If you get any thing from these pictures I hope it is that diversity in your porfolio is the key to success. Practice, practice, practice as they say. Art schools want to see that you have tried many different techniques, media, ways of expressing yourself. This shows them that you are open to experimenting and learning. It gives them a sense that you are open enough to be taught. Talent helps but it is not nessasarilly what drives the accepting of a student. You do not have to use the medias that are shown here, but you should try a varity. One other thing, do figure studies. They do not have to be nudes but showing some figure drawing is very helpful to acceptance and to your own skill. Can't get a model look for an art guild in your area. These usually offer figure sketch sessions for 5 to 10 dollars for an evening.
